The Dark Prophecy (trials of Apollo 2) by Rick Riordan

30145666
Blurb:
Zeus has punished his son Apollo—god of the sun, music, archery, poetry, and more—by casting him down to earth in the form of a gawky, acne-covered sixteen-year-old mortal named Lester. The only way Apollo can reclaim his rightful place on Mount Olympus is by restoring several Oracles that have gone dark. What is affecting the Oracles, and how can Apollo do anything about them without his powers?

After experiencing a series of dangerous—and frankly, humiliating—trials at Camp Half-Blood, Apollo must now leave the relative safety of the demigod training ground and embark on a hair-raising journey across North America. Fortunately, what he lacks in godly graces he's gaining in new friendships—with heroes who will be very familiar to fans of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus series. Come along for what promises to be a harrowing, hilarious, and haiku-filled ride. . . .
My thoughts:
I love Rick Riordan's books. i have read every single book he has ever written. His books a funny, entertaining, and action pack. i love that you never know what you will read when you turn the page. you think that it is going one way but  it is actually going another. I love his spin that he puts on mythology. when i found out that Apollo was getting his own spin off i was excited. we already met Apollo in Percy Jackson and the Lost Hero series. this book takes place 6 weeks after the first book left off. at first the book was a little slow but eventually  you will not be able to put it down. so old characters will be coming back. At the end of this book there will be a new prophecy tat will set the pace for the rest of the books to come. Now, my only complaint (i will most likely say this with every review in this series) is that if you did not read Percy Jackson or the Lost Hero series you may end up a little confused by some of the references. The author does a decent job of giving a description of the old charters but i like the full history.otherwise i can not wait till the next book.
