Project 17 by Laurie Faria Stolarz

Six high school students visit an abandoned mental institution before its demolition. Each of them have their own underlying purpose for visiting, but what brought them together is the chance to be in a film contest. When a game of truth or dare spirals out of control-they begin to really sees what lies within the walls of Danvers State Hospital.

This book is seriously creepy. The characters are the stereotypical assortment- the jock, popular kids, goth, and so on. When the true plot of the story is revealed-everything changes. I’ve read it twice and both times in one day. The ghost story and scare factor could have been improved but it was enough for me to stay entertained and spooked. I’ve passed it on to several other people to read.

If you enjoyed the Asylum series, then you would enjoy this book.
