Last Decendent (Assassin's Creed: The Last Descendants 1)

This blog post going to be a little different for me. I normal stick to YA or new adult books. today's post will be about a kids book. i have recently been into gaming lately. I have just started playing the Assassin's Creed games. I was in Barns & Nobel and i saw that they had book so i thought i would read the book to see if it was similar to the game. Also, the bonus post that i promised will be out on Saturday. OK, Leah lets get to the review.

Blurb:
Nothing in Owen’s life has been right since his father died in prison, accused of a crime Owen is certain he didn't commit. Monroe, the IT guy at school, might finally bring Owen the means to clear his father’s name by letting him use an Animus—a device that lets users explore the genetic memories buried within their own DNA. The experience brings Owen more than he bargained for. During a simulation, Owen uncovers the existence of an ancient and powerful relic long considered legend—the Trident of Eden. Now two secret organizations will stop at nothing to take possession of this artifact—the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order. It soon becomes clear to Owen that the only way to save himself is to find the Trident first.

Under the guidance of Monroe, Owen and a group of other teenagers go into a memory they all share within their DNA: the 1863 Draft Riots in New York City. Owen and his companions will find themselves tested on the gritty streets of New York, and their experiences in the past will have far-reaching consequences in the present.

My thoughts:
At first i was nervous to read this book. the book was actually really addicting. i could not put it down. I was shocked that this book was a kid book. that is where my library had it on the shelf. I also feel that it was very close to the game. i liked how there was a different main character. there was a lot of similarities between the game and the book. the main difference was that they connected more characters to the Animus than they do in the game. in the game it is only one  person but in the book they connected 6 different people at once. i liked that we got to read from different points of view. the ending of this book will make you want to pick up the next right away. this book was a fast read. i feel that that this book did better justice to the series than the movie did. if you are a fan of the this series i would read this book.
