Logan St. James is a smoldering, sexy beast. Sure, he can be a little broody at times—but Ellie Hammond’s willing to overlook that. Because, have you seen him??

Sexy. As. Hell.

And Ellie’s perky enough for both of them.

For years, she’s had a crush on the intense, gorgeous royal security guard—but she doesn’t think he ever saw her, not really.

To Logan, Ellie was just part of the job—a relative of the royal family he’d sworn to protect. Now, at 22 years old and fresh out of college, she’s determined to put aside her X-rated dreams of pat-downs and pillow talk, and find a real life happily ever after.

The Queen of Wessco encourages Ellie to follow in her sister’s footsteps and settle down with a prince of her own. Or a duke, a marquis…a viscount would also do nicely.

But in the pursuit of a fairy tale ending, Ellie learns that the sweetest crushes can be the hardest to let go.
***
Logan St. James grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, in a family on the wrong side of the law. But these days, he covers his tattoos and scars with a respectable suit. He’s handsome, loyal, brave, skilled with his hands and…other body parts.

Any woman would be proud to call him hers.

But there’s only one woman he wants.

For years he’s watched over her, protected her, held her hair back when she was sick, taught her how to throw a punch, and spot a liar.

He dreams of her. Would lay down his life for her.

But beautiful Ellie Hammond’s off-limits.

Everybody knows the bodyguard rules: Never lose focus, never let them out of your sight, and never, ever fall in love.

Release date: TBA

Blurb

Gina:
Freshly brewed tea. Earl Grey, loose leaf.
Rain on the windowsills. The smell of library books. Escape into worlds greater than this.
Solitude.
Invisibility.
A quiet life. Maybe boring, but boring was never dangerous. Until I saw what I was missing out on. Who I was missing out on. The man who shattered my boring, safe life and lay it to ruin.
The man I’d been in love with since I was a teenager. Who I’d been invisible to since I was a teenager.
The man who just happened to be a world-famous rock star.

Sam:
Whisky. Neat. Leave the bottle.
Crowd of hundreds of people. No, make it thousands. All shouting my name. Live fast. Die...
Die? I’m too young, too famous and far too badass to die. Death doesn’t happen when you stop breathing, it’s what happens before that. Death is the monotony of life. The grave? Well, all the greats live there. You’re not a rock star until you die before you’re thirty. The grave doesn't bother me.
Just the quiet.
That is death in the life of rock.
But then... her.
She’d been there all along and I’d been too blind, too obsessed with the fast, loud life to realize where the real Nirvana lay.
In the silence.
Even the grave couldn’t hold me if I didn’t get her.
And I’m a rock star.
And a badass.
And as stubborn as I am good-looking.
I know how to get what I want.
I also know how to kill anyone who gets in my way.

Let's look at the cover one more time

Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.

Raised in small town New Zealand, Anne had a truly special childhood, growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. She has backpacked across Europe, ridden camels in the Sahara, eaten her way through Italy, and had all sorts of crazy adventures. For now, she's back at home in New Zealand and quite happy. But who knows when the travel bug will bite her next.

Not Under the Law by Grace Livingston Hill

“Desperate and on the run, Joyce’s only hope is a man who betrayed her.”

Another one of the many novels my grandparents sent from California in that lovely large box of Grace Livingston Hill books. My mother has been hounding me forever to read this book, and I am so happy I finally did.

This may be one of my favorite grace Livingston hill books I have read this far. It simply made me want to re-evaluate my life and living arrangements. It sent me dreaming of a tiny home life, how it would be to leave and disappear to another state and town-how my life could change just by one decision and making the choice to be true to myself.

This book had it all, love, trial, grave robbers (!!), and of course, like every Grace Livingston Hill book, God.

It was an absolute joy to read this book, it's truly a treasure, and especially so when I can talk about it with my Mom, Grandmother, and Aunt. I absolutely love that these novels have been passed down through generations.

I did not want this book to end!

But seriously...who saw the grave robbers coming!!

A Map for Wrecked Girls by Jessica Taylor

This is an ARC I picked up from Bookcon last month and I was so excited to get it...it truly was just as good as I hoped it would be.

I finished this book in a day, it just kept you wanting to read more and on the edge of your seat. These children were stranded on an island after witnessing one of their friends die and then have to deal with the repercussions of being stranded- learning and adapting to survive on a tropical island- as well as their past issues with themselves and each other.

When reading other reviews on Goodreads, I know there are a lot of people who are unsure of the probability of a 17 and 16 year old going out every night to party, but trust me it happens...I was one of those kids. It’s exactly how the author portrays it, it’s dirty, crude, and not at all glamourous. I feel like the party scene outlined and described in the book was necessary, it gave more depth to the entire story and background of Henri and Emma.

This book hit on so many issues teens are having, the dangers of not seeking help and spiraling out of control, and the overall anxiety of being a teenager in this day and age.

What I absolutely loved was the sister relationship. It’s truly my relationship with my younger sister and I found myself reading out loud passages from the book and her just saying, “Why is this actually us?”. It showed the true complexities of a sister relationship, and even if one is angry/upset with the other, the love you have for one another will never die or change. It is truly a deep and rooted love.

I just whole heartedly hope that the novel does not change that much from the ARC. Regardless, I’ll be buying the final version when it hits the stores.

My Interview with Jake Ingrassia

Hi everyone! Today I will be doing something different on my blog. I was lucky enough to get to do a character Interview with someone from the Rockstar series by Anne Mercier. If you have not read any books by this author before you should go check out her books they are amazing. I know that everyone out there is sad that Xander did not come out last week but Anne needs to focus on her health right now. So to cheer everybody up here is an interview with one of the Blush Babies:  Jake Ingrassia!!!!
Leah: Thank you for coming out and talking with me today. I am excited to get to know you better just like everyone else must be as well.
            Jake: Thank you for having.
L: Congrats on becoming a Blush Baby.  What was it like meeting the band?
J:Meeting Falling Down and Blush was awesome. They're so cool and just regular guys. I                   wasn't expecting them to be so normal.
L: How has your life changed since becoming part of the Blush campaign?
J:The only thing that's changed is I have the money to pay for college without having to get                loans. Other than that, not much has changed. Every now and again someone will recognize                me.
L: What made you apply to become apart of the Blush campaign?
J: It seemed fun. I really liked Blush and their sound so when it came out about the campaign, I            threw my name in. The money and college were big factors as well.
L: What have you done since becoming the Blush Baby?
J: I'm in college, studying to become an actor. I'd like to be on the big screen someday.
L:  What is the craziest thing that has happened to you since becoming apart of this project?
J:The girls. The girls throwing themselves at me, lifting their tops and flashing me. That                      doesn't go over well with my girl, but she's a good sport about it. Do those girls think I'd go for            someone like that? Someone with so little respect for themselves?  Man, I'm really no fun, am              I?
L:What do you like to do for fun?
J:Hang out with my girlfriend. I'm in the plays we put on at school so that takes up a lot of my extra time. I occasionally go to parties. Usual college kid stuff, I guess.
L: Have you always been a fan of this type of music?
J:Heck yes. I love rock music. Don't get me wrong, I like pop as well, but rock is my go-to.                  Always.
L: Since you could not go on tour with the band, did you get to go to any of their shows?                      J:Yes, I went to a couple of the shows. My mom's pretty strict but once I turned 18 she couldn't            stop me from going to see them live.
L: Was it weird seeing your face on billboards?
J:Yeah, very weird. I still see myself up there from time to time and it seems surreal. When                  people see me near the billboards and point, that's just craziness.
L: What has been the best part of this whole experience?
J: Not having to worry about finances. Becoming friends with Lucy, Sera, Jace, Meggie, and               Trace. They truly are my friends and I feel very lucky to have met them.
L: I feel like I got to know you a little bit better now. I think the fans will enjoy getting to know you a little bit better as well. Thank you for letting me interview you and good luck with collage.
J: Thank you for having me.

Well there you have guy. We now know a little bit more about Jake. I hope this can hold you over till Xander is released. I have a couple of other interviews lined up with other characters from the Rockstar Series. So check back often. If there is anyone else you would like me to interview let me know in the comments. Otherwise, never stop reading.

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

Goodreads Blurb: Vika Andreyeva can summon the snow and turn ash into gold. Nikolai Karimov can see through walls and conjure bridges out of thin air. They are enchanters—the only two in Russia—and with the Ottoman Empire and the Kazakhs threatening, the tsar needs a powerful enchanter by his side.

And so he initiates the Crown’s Game, an ancient duel of magical skill—the greatest test an enchanter will ever know. The victor becomes the Imperial Enchanter and the tsar’s most respected adviser. The defeated is sentenced to death.

Raised on tiny Ovchinin Island her whole life, Vika is eager for the chance to show off her talent in the grand capital of Saint Petersburg. But can she kill another enchanter—even when his magic calls to her like nothing else ever has?

For Nikolai, an orphan, the Crown’s Game is the chance of a lifetime. But his deadly opponent is a force to be reckoned with—beautiful, whip-smart, imaginative—and he can’t stop thinking about her.

And when Pasha, Nikolai’s best friend and heir to the throne, also starts to fall for the mysterious enchantress, Nikolai must defeat the girl they both love…or be killed himself.

As long-buried secrets emerge, threatening the future of the empire, it becomes dangerously clear—the Crown’s Game is not one to lose.

My thoughts: So many lies and secrets throughout the entire book and that is probably the best part. Trying to remember all the stories and who knows what. I thought the magic each enchanter has was interesting in who each enchanter found where their strengths were and such. The game itself fell flat for me and to me there wasn’t really much focus on the game itself just the drama behind the curtains. The enchanters was supposed to wow the tsar with their abilities and one-up each other but their tricks where dull and boring to me. There is a sequel to the book, The Crown’s Fate which I hesitate to read because the ending of the Crown’s Game kind of plateaued after the last test, I’m not sure if I’m going to like where the story is headed.

What Janie Saw by Caroline B. Cooney (#4.5 Janie Johnson)

“Discover what still matters to Janie, who was kidnapped as a toddler and reunited with her birth family as a teenager, and who may still be in danger as a young woman.”

In this ebook short story, Janie’s story becomes once again in the media spotlight by help of the Visionary Assassins, a band that Reeve brought into the limelight while in What Janie heard. This song and video unfortunately seen by everyone in the country, more specifically Hannah Javerson.

This short story I’m not too sure of, it was only 32 pages, but showed a somewhat evil side of Hannah. It was a strange leap from the 4th installment of the series when Hannah got the remaining amount of money in her father’s account.

In this story, Hannah is working two jobs to stay afloat and live, but more importantly has it out for Janie. While Janie is trying to decide what she will do for college, where she can go to disappear, and if she can fully love and trust Reeve again.
