As the camera crew whisks them off to Scotland to film the lead-up to the wedding, camera-shy Dylan is front and center as Dusty’s maid of honor. The producers are full of surprises—including old family secrets, long-lost relatives, and a hostile future mother-in-law who thinks Dusty and Dylan’s family isn’t good enough for her only son. At least there’s Jamie, an adorably bookish groomsman who might just be the perfect antidote to all Dylan’s stress . . . if she just can keep TRC from turning her into the next reality show sensation.

But I am no ordinary daughter of the mafia.

Unlike every other mafia family, my mother was Melody Callahan, Bloody Mel, the Don of the Italian Mafia, and the Don didn’t raise some precious mafia princess.

I am no longer just the daughter.
I am the Don.
I am Donatella Aviela Callahan, and there is only one way—my way.

Keatyn Douglas — Hollywood’s sweetheart and owner of Captive Films leads a chaotic, glamorous life. Dawson Johnson — The dark and dreamy marketing consultant joins Captive to escape his past. For the last two years, his sole focus has been on caring for his adorable daughters after tragedy struck their lives. A Million Worlds with You by Claudia Gray

A Million Worlds with You by Claudia Gray

Goodreads Blurb: A million universes. A million dangers. One destiny.

The fate of the multiverse rests in Marguerite Caine’s hands. Marguerite has been at the center of a cross-dimensional feud since she first traveled to another universe using her parents’ invention, the Firebird. Only now has she learned the true plans of the evil Triad Corporation—and that those plans could spell doom for dozens or hundreds of universes, each facing total annihilation.

Paul Markov has always been at Marguerite’s side, but Triad’s last attack has left him a changed man—angry and shadowed by tragedy. He struggles to overcome the damage done to him, but despite Marguerite’s efforts to help, Paul may never be the same again.

So it’s up to Marguerite alone to stop the destruction of the multiverse. Billions of lives are at stake. The risks have never been higher. And Triad has unleashed its ultimate weapon: another dimension’s Marguerite—wicked, psychologically twisted, and always one step ahead.

In the conclusion to Claudia Gray’s Firebird trilogy, fate and family will be questioned, loves will be won and lost, and the multiverse will be forever changed. It’s a battle of the Marguerites…and only one can win.

My thoughts: The ending of the Firebird trilogy is my favorite of the series. I loved being able to go into some worlds and still discover news one. There are two major surprises that I was not prepared for but I think Claudia wrote them well and it definitely caught my attention. I read this book a couple of months ago and I can’t remember the exact ending of this book but it is still my favorite in the series because of the middle.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Interview with a Rockstar!

Hi everyone. Since today is Thanksgiving, I wanted to give back to all of the readers out there who are a fan. Books are my passion and I am so fortunate that I have the opertunity to turn this passion into a career. Never give up on want you went. With that said let me introduce the Rockstar that I will be interviewing.  He is a drummer and in this little band called Blush. Can you guess who it is?  That's right  it is Trace Styx!

Leah: Thank you for taking time out of you day for this interview.
Trace: The pleasure is all mine
*Such a flirt*
Leah:Out of all the instruments, what led you to like drums the best? If you could pick any other
instrument to play what would it be?

Trace: When I was little, I was always banging on pots and pans with wooden spoons. My mom thought           it helped me get out my aggression or anger, so she got me my first drum set. The rest is history, as they say.  Other instrument… well, I can play the piano/keyboards. I guess I'd like to learn to play the sax or get better with the guitar.

L: What is your favorite and worst celebrity that you have meet?
T: Lzzy Hale from Halestorm. She is hella crazy and so much fun. Her brother too.

L: If you were not a musician, what would you be?
T: Hell, I don't know. All I've ever wanted to be was a musician. Underground fighter maybe.

L: Out of all the girls in the world, what made Meggie stand out to you?
T: Her personality. She doesn't hide what she's feeling and she doesn't pretend to be someone she's
not. I love that she's so real. On top of that she's smokin' hot.

L: What is your favorite thing about Meggie?
T: Her bounce when she's happy. It's like she just can't keep that much happiness contained in her tiny body. It's cute.

L: Is Meggie the one?
T:  Yeah, she is.

L: The fans what to know the answer to this so don’t kill me. I know that you were in a band before but if they asked you to come back would you?
T: No. Without question, no. They screwed up so big when they let drugs take over and edge out the music. I don't want to be around anyone like that and I know Blush will never go in that direction.

L: What is your favorite part about working in Blush?
T: Everyone participates when writing songs—both the lyrics and the music. We didn't do that in my last band.

L: What is your favorite thing to do in you down time?
T:  Bang Meggie. Trace chuckles. She's going to hit me for that. We go hiking, to the beach. We're usually pretty active. I guess I should have just said spending time with Meggie.

L: What is it like living in Casa Falling Down?
T: Meggie and I have our own place. We're the only ones other than Sera and Cage. I don't think I could live there 24/7. Way too much chaos and I like my privacy.

L: What is the worst part about being a musician?
T: The tour buses. They can be luxurious and top of the line, but they're cramped and you have zero privacy. After a show, everyone's sweaty and fighting for the shower. So, yeah. The bus.

L: How do you handle the pressure of being a musician?
T:  I just go with it. I've never really given it any thought. I just go out there to play music. Yeah, we get those crazy fans who come up to you in the middle of a tattoo or haircut and ask for an autograph, but I'd have done the same thing when I was a kid if I'd seen a musician I liked.

L: What was your first tat? Where and when?
T: My first tat was this one here on my right upper arm of the skulls. I was 17 when I got that one.

L: Were you as shocked as the girls were when you found out that Xander was married?
T: Not really. I knew there was something going on with the guy that no one else knew or talked about. Now it's a matter of finding out just what the hell happened there. I'm sure it's going to be something big.
L: Thank you again for coming today and Happy Thanksgiving.
T: Thank you for having me and you too.

That was intense but very informative as well. I am excited that I got to interview Trace. If you want me to do a follow up with Trace or an interview with other Rockstar characters let me know in the comments. If you missed the other interviews that I did the link for them will be below. Have a good Thanksgiving.

Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2) by V.E. Schwab

Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2) by V.E. Schwab

Goodreads Blurb: THE WORLD IS BREAKING. AND SO ARE THEY.

KATE HARKER isn't afraid of monsters. She hunts them. And she's good at it.

AUGUST FLYNN once yearned to be human. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.

THE WAR HAS BEGUN.

THE MONSTERS ARE WINNING.

Kate will have to return to Verity. August will have to let her back in. And a new monster is waiting—one that feeds on chaos and brings out its victims' inner demons.

Which will be harder to conquer: the monsters they face, or the monsters within?

My Thoughts: After the cliff hanger from the first book I had to get my hands on this one. The story starts off months after book 1 and the main characters Kate and August are in completely different places than I thought they would be.  Kate is battling her inner monsters and fighting monster in the city. August is working more hand-in-hand with Flynn’s group. The biggest shocked of the book is the ending. I did not see it coming and I haven’t figured about it, right now I’m 50/50.

*Recommended for readers 18+ due to Language, Sexual Content, and Violence.
 (less)
My thoughts:
Out of this series this was the dirties. you can see the passion that the two main characters have. when the author was writing about Dirty in the other books, I thought that he was going to be the typical biker guy. that was not the case at all. He is caring, very devoted, and drop dead beautiful. we also get so learn more about the mystery person that is causing all of the problem with for the clubs. i really want to know who is causing all of the problems for this club. i can not wait to read the next one.

Beau Rivage Series: Tear You Apart by Sarah Cross

Goodreads Blurb for Tear You Apart:

If you want to live happily ever after, first you have to stay alive. Viv knows there's no escaping her fairy-tale curse. One day her beautiful stepmother will feed her a poison apple or convince her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Henley, to hunt her down and cut out her heart before she breaks his. In the city of Beau Rivage, some princesses are destined to be prey.

But then Viv receives an invitation to the exclusive club where the Twelve Dancing Princesses twirl away their nights. There she meets Jasper, an underworld prince who seems to have everything—but what he really wants is her. He vows to save her from her dark fate if she'll join him and be his queen.

All Viv has to do is tear herself away from the huntsman boy who still holds her heart. Then she might live to see if happily ever after is a promise the prince can keep. But is life as an underworld queen worth sacrificing the true love that might kill her?

My thoughts: What I like about this book is that it is not a continuation of Kill Me Softly. The story takes place in the same town but with different characters who know of each other but don’t play a major role in each other’s story. This story will keep you guessing until the end on who is who and what will happen next. I believe there is to be a third book but there was an unfortunate issue with the original publishers and Sarah Cross’s new publisher have yet to give her the green light for book 3.

Deadly Little Sins (Prep School Confidential #3) by Kara Taylor

Deadly Little Sins (Prep School Confidential, #3)

Blurb:
In Kara Taylor's Deadly Little Sins, Anne Dowling investigates a mysterious disappearance in this fast-paced, twisty conclusion to the Prep School Confidential series.

It’s August and Anne is back in New York City for the summer, but she can’t escape the memories of the terrible things that happened at the Wheatley School last spring— and the possibility of being expelled looming over her. When an unexpected— and suspicious— turn of events gets Anne sent back to Wheatley, she’s determined to figure out what happened to her favorite teacher and only adult ally at the school: Ms. Cross.

After a shocking, gruesome murder with connections to the Wheatley School occurs, Anne is convinced there’s more to Ms. Cross’s sudden disappearance, and that her favorite teacher is in danger. But after an ugly breakup with Brent and a new, inexplicable distance between her and Anthony, Anne isn’t sure who she can trust. And even worse, someone at Wheatley knows the truth about what happened to Ms. Cross— someone who will stop at nothing to keep Anne from learning the truth in this engrossing, unputdownable read.
My thoughts:

This book was a great ending to the series. This book was fast moving and full of twists.  I love who she ends up with in the end. You will not be able to put this book down. I can not wait to see what other books Kara Taylor will write.

Beau Rivage Series: Kill Me Softly by Sarah Cross

Beau Rivage Series by Sarah Cross

Goodreads Blurb for Kill Me Softly:
Mirabelle's past is shrouded in secrecy, from her parents' tragic deaths to her guardians' half-truths about why she can't return to her birthplace, Beau Rivage. Desperate to see the town, Mira runs away a week before her sixteenth birthday—and discovers a world she never could have imagined.

In Beau Rivage, nothing is what it seems—the strangely pale girl with a morbid interest in apples, the obnoxious playboy who's a beast to everyone he meets, and the chivalrous guy who has a thing for damsels in distress. Here, fairy tales come to life, curses are awakened, and ancient stories are played out again and again.

But fairy tales aren't pretty things, and they don't always end in happily ever after. Mira has a role to play, a fairy tale destiny to embrace or resist. As she struggles to take control of her fate, Mira is drawn into the lives of two brothers with fairy tale curses of their own . . . brothers who share a dark secret. And she'll find that love, just like fairy tales, can have sharp edges and hidden thorns.

My thoughts: All the fairies tales are living under one roof, well in one town at least. In this town everyone is tied to one fairy tale whether like or not isn’t the issue. The challenge is which fairy tale do you belong and can you live up to your role. If you are into retellings definitely pick up this book.

When the most precious part of Brentlee's world is threatened by the man who was meant to love them, she escapes to the only safe place she knows. But when she seeks the shelter of her sister, Kentlee, and her husband, Fury, her past steps in—and he's determined to protect Brentlee and her daughter as his own.

Their story is one of love discarded, but Sniper won't waste this opportunity to right the wrongs of his past.

Life has been cruel to them both, and Brentlee is certain that the love they lost is gone forever; but under his protective wing, she can't deny that this rough and raw man might be just the hope she needs

-- Series Standalone with Interconnected Characters--

**Recommended for readers 18+ due to Sexual Content, Language, and Violence. This book also touches on the subject matter of Domestic Violence.

My thoughts:
This was very intense.  the main characters have an intense history and that is what sets there relationships apart from others. I was really shocked at certain parts of this book. I also know that what Bates is going through can be super hard and I love that he found someone to love. I think it is amazing that he take on her daughter as his own. We also get so see the characters from the previous book. You will not be able to put this book down. So if you like hot alpha males than this is a book for you.

A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic #2) by V.E. Schwab

A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic #2) by V.E. Schwab

Goodreads Blurb: It has been four months since a mysterious obsidian stone fell into Kell's possession. Four months since his path crossed with Delilah Bard. Four months since Prince Rhy was wounded, and since the nefarious Dane twins of White London fell, and four months since the stone was cast with Holland's dying body through the rift--back into Black London.

Now, restless after having given up his smuggling habit, Kell is visited by dreams of ominous magical events, waking only to think of Lila, who disappeared from the docks as she always meant to do. As Red London finalizes preparations for the Element Games--an extravagant international competition of magic meant to entertain and keep healthy the ties between neighboring countries--a certain pirate ship draws closer, carrying old friends back into port.

And while Red London is caught up in the pageantry and thrills of the Games, another London is coming back to life. After all, a shadow that was gone in the night will reappear in the morning. But the balance of magic is ever perilous, and for one city to flourish, another London must fall.

My Thoughts: This book for me felt slow and dragged out. I’m not sure how I feel about the character Lila anymore. I was 50/50 with her in book 1 but now in book 2 I feel like  she’s too…..insert word. She is a strong character, she defies the odds which is great but she’s constantly stubborn hat I wish sometimes she would bend a little because it would make things go smoother. To me it felt like she was being stubborn just to be stubborn. The book also felt a little dragged out, I feel it could’ve been shorter. The most interesting parts I found where the elemental games. I loved being able to get more into the magic of the Londons and seeing that it’s more than just Kell. Overall the book is a good stepping stone into book 3.

Wicked Little Secrets (Prep School Confidential #2) by Kara Taylor

Wicked Little Secrets (Prep School Confidential, #2)

Blurb:
Anne Dowling becomes entangled in a web of secrets involving a missing student and a conspiracy at Wheatley Prep in this fast-paced, juicy follow-up to Prep School Confidential

Anne Dowling—a fresh, original, and funny new YA heroine whose knowing, irreverent voice will remind readers of Pretty Little Liars and Private—is back for her second semester at Wheatley Prep. Although things have settled (somewhat) since her roommate Isabella’s death, Anne's still kind of obsessed with the disappearance of Wheatley student Matthew Weaver thirty years ago, since she found a picture of him and his crewmates with the words “they killed him” scrawled on the back among Isabella’s things.

When Anne learns that her boyfriend Brent’s dad is one of the now-powerful Wheatley alumni who rowed crew with Matthew, and that the crew team continues to induct new members with a creepy-sounding ritual called “The Drop,” she knows further investigation could put her relationship with Brent in danger. Determined to discover the truth, she reaches out to Anthony, Isabella’s townie brother, who helps her delve deeper into the secrets in Wheatley’s past. Secrets someone would kill to keep hidden. As the school’s Spring Formal—and its notorious afterparty—approaches, Anne sees the perfect opportunity to do some off-campus digging into the lives of Wheatley’s VIPs in this thrilling, unputdownable read—but if she’s not careful, she’ll be the next student who never comes back.
My thoughts:
I love this series. I tend to avoid mystery because I can usually figure them out really fast but this series I can't. It takes me almost the whole book and then I might even be wrong. i love that I cant figure it out fast. I also love the cliff hanger ending she gives us. The only thing i hate is who she is dating. All I can say is that I am team Brent. I can not wait till the next and last book unfortunately comes out.

The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes by Leonard Goldberg

The Daughter of Sherlock Holmes by Leonard Goldberg

Goodreads Blurb: 1910. Joanna Blalock unknowingly is the product of a sole assignation between the late Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler. After the nurse and her ten-year-old son see a man fall to his death in an apparent suicide, elderly Dr. John Watson and his charming handsome son Dr. John Watson Jr. invite her to join their detective team. From hidden treasure to the Second Afghan War of 1878-1880, the group devise an ingenious plan to catch a murderer in the act while dodging Scotland Yard the British aristocracy.

My thoughts: I literally saw this book on a table display on my way to check out. The book takes place after Sherlock has passed away. Dr. Watson still lives in 221B Baker St and every once in a while people come with their problems. One in particular catches Watson’s interest so he and his son, who is also Dr. Watson, set out to investigate. One of their witnesses just happens to be the daughter of Sherlock Holmes which Sr. Dr. Watson has been keeping a secret since her birth. The three of them work together to solve the murder cases. With each passing day, they see more and more of Sherlock Holmes in Johanna. Just like every Holmes and Watson case there are many twist and turns their lives get threaten. Naturally the three of them solve the case and all of the secrets come out. If you like mystery novels and/or part of the Sherlock fandom I would recommend this book.

This book is down right sexy, hard, and dirty. If that is you type of book then i highly recommend this book. I could not put it down while I was reading. I love how you can feel the passion in there love without being there.  I fell in love with this couple. i can wit to read the next one.

Spindle by Shonna Slayton

Spindle by Shonna Slayton

Goodreads Blurb: In a world where fairies lurk and curses linger, love can bleed like the prick of a finger…

Briar Rose knows her life will never be a fairy tale. She’s raising her siblings on her own, her wages at the spinning mill have been cut, and the boy she thought she had a future with has eyes for someone else. Most days it feels like her best friend, Henry Prince, is the only one in her corner…though with his endless flirty jokes, how can she ever take him seriously?

When a mysterious peddler offers her a “magic” spindle that could make her more money, sneaking it into the mill seems worth the risk. But then one by one, her fellow spinner girls come down with the mysterious sleeping sickness…and Briar’s not immune.

If Briar wants to save the girls—and herself—she’ll have to start believing in fairy tales…and in the power of a prince’s kiss.

My thoughts: Just by the name alone I knew it would be Sleeping Beauty related, she’s my favorite princess so I read just about everything about her. For me this book dragged out and even when there was drama happening it wasn’t anything major so it kind of fell flat. Overall it was a unique retelling with some changes to the main story, nothing too outrageous, but probably not a book I will pick up again.
