Pepped Up & Wilder (Pepper Jones, #6)
Blurb:

Pepper:

The best part of a happy ending... finding out it's actually just the beginning. Having someone promise to be by your side, to chase dreams with, whisper troubles to, it's more than I could have imagined.

But after three seasons of Jace playing pro ball in Ohio, three long seasons, with him on the road, and me training all over the world, I’m questioning if we can really have it all. Harsh criticism of our relationship is all too familiar and uncovers old wounds. I only ever wanted to run and to be with Jace, and finding the perfect balance proves to be my greatest trial yet.

We vowed not to let our love deter each other's athletic goals, but I miss him. I miss us.

Jace:

The demands of our careers have us running in opposite directions, when we should be putting down roots, together. But escalating fame and an overbearing agent have me fumbling everything I hold dear, including Pepper.

After years of dedication and sacrifice, I'm finally in a position to trade to my hometown team. Moving back to Colorado could be the answer to all our problems, but just when I think we're finally on the right track, we're sacked with news that turns everything upside down. News that rattles me and sends Pepper into a tailspin. It's time for me to remind the girl that I fell in love with how to fight.

Until she's ready, I'll fight hard enough for the both of us. For better or for worse

Pulse (rockstar 15) by Anne Mercier

25383994

Blurb:
Jesse and Lucy need a break. They look and feel like cast members from The Walking Dead, and I'm not talking about the humans. It's only an overnight break, but it's exactly what they need.

Cage and Sera attend a charity function and run into an unwelcome enemy. They spend a special night together before they get to work on a plan of how to keep one of their own safe.

My thoughts:
I love this short story. I liked how every other chapter was a different part of the couple. I am was a little disappointed with Lucy and Jesse's story. I wanted to have a little more context in the story. I also want to know what is going on with that guy who is staring at Sera. Otherwise, it was sexy, romantic, caring. I like reading short stories of the characters.

Eulogy (eagle elite 9) by Rachel Van Dyken

Eulogy (Eagle Elite #9)
Blurb:
All is lost.
All.
I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore.
My thoughts are filled with hatred and dripping with rage.
I've lost my soul.
She took it to the depths of Hell with her and haunts me with images of what could have been.
Sixty lives are mine to take.
Sixty lives stand in the way of my vengeance.
Sixty lives plus one more.
Mine.
When the last drop of blood falls — mine will be spilled.
Only one person stands in the way.
She doesn't realize I'll kill her too.
I don't own a heart.
And even if I did — I wouldn't fall prey to its lies again.
I am Chase Abandonato.
Heir to a legacy of betrayal.
And I will kill them all.
Even if it means pointing the gun at myself.
A life for a life.
A soul for a soul.
Now I lay me down to sleep… I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Blood in. No out.

My Thoughts:
this book was very intense. I wanted to throw my kindle Chase made me so mad. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. this book was very gory but I think that it was bound to happen when you talk about the mob. We learned a huge secret in this book. I am talking a mega secret. so much happens I hope this is not the end of the series.

The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro

The Buried Giant
Blurb:
"You've long set your heart against it, Axl, I know. But it's time now to think on it anew. There's a journey we must go on, and no more delay..."

The Buried Giant begins as a couple set off across a troubled land of mist and rain in the hope of finding a son they have not seen in years.

Sometimes savage, often intensely moving, Kazuo Ishiguro's first novel in nearly a decade is about lost memories, love, revenge, and war.

My Thoughts:
This book was horrible. Do not read it. the book starts off good but it is so slow. it is hard to relate because the characters are older. now if you are a fan of king author you might like it but I do not recommend it at all.

Brother ( slater brothers 6 ) by L. A. Casey

BROTHERS (Slater Brothers Book 6)
Blurb:
Loyalty.
Respect.
Wit.
Aggression.
Heart.

Each word describes the Slater brothers and how they were moulded into the men they are today … but what did it take to get them where they are?

Pain.
Disregard.
Fear.
Anger.
Love.

Peeling back each layer to find the brothers’ core means looking at their past to see how they got their future. From overcoming family feuds and breaking a warlord's hold on them to moving to another country and finding women who make their world spin.

The Slater brothers idolise their women, and what the Slater brothers idolise, the Slater brothers guard.

My thoughts:
I love the ending of this series. It will give you all of the feels. I love seeing the boys point of views. they are funny but raw at the same time.  Seeing what the boys went through growing up will pull at your heartstrings. I wish that we could have seen more with the children but over very well done. she also tackles issues that children face in today's world. and that makes it all the worst. I am sad that the series is over but I can't wait for the Collins brother series to start.

Sorry that I have been so absent lately. I am trying to get better about blogging. Here is the November Releases:

November 6th
Umbertouched (Rosemarked, #2)

Blurb:The mission was a failure. Even though Zivah and Dineas discovered a secret that could bring down the empire, their information is useless without proof. Now, with their cover blown and their quest abandoned, their only remaining hope is to get home before Ampara brings the full might of its armies against their peoples.

As Shidadi and Dara alike prepare for war, Zivah and Dineas grapple with the toll of their time in the capital. After fighting alongside the Amparans against his own kin, can Dineas convince the Shidadi—and himself—where his loyalties lie? After betraying her healer’s vows in Sehmar City, can Zivah find a way to redeem herself—especially when the Dara ask her to do the unthinkable? And after reluctantly falling in love, what will the two do with their lingering feelings, now that the Dineas from Sehmar City is gone forever? Time is running out for all of them, but especially Zivah whose plague symptoms surface once again. Now, she must decide how she’ll define the life she has left.

Together, healer and warrior must find the courage to save their people, expose the truth, and face the devastating consequences headed their way.

Blurb:
"I'm not saying this is Sawyer's fault," the prim and proper one said delicately. "But."

Eighteen-year-old auto mechanic Sawyer Taft did not expect her estranged grandmother to show up at her apartment door and offer her a six-figure contract to participate in debutante season. And she definitely never imagined she would accept. But when she realizes that immersing herself in her grandmother's "society" might mean discovering the answer to the biggest mystery of her life-her father's identity-she signs on the dotted line and braces herself for a year of makeovers, big dresses, bigger egos, and a whole lot of bless your heart. The one thing she doesn't expect to find is friendship, but as she's drawn into a group of debutantes with scandalous, dangerous secrets of their own, Sawyer quickly discovers that her family isn't the only mainstay of high society with skeletons in their closet. There are people in her grandmother's glittering world who are not what they appear, and no one wants Sawyer poking her nose into the past. As she navigates the twisted relationships between her new friends and their powerful parents, Sawyer's search for the truth about her own origins is just the beginning.

Set in the world of debutante balls, grand estates and rolling green hills, Little White Lies combines a charming setting, a classic fish-out-of-water story, and the sort of layered mystery only author Jennifer Lynn Barnes can pull off.
